- I crossed through Nebraska many times. As a college student, on a greyhound bus from Ann Arbor, Michigan to spend Christmas break in San Francisco, California. After living in McCall, Idaho, I drove the travel van with a broken knee by myself all the way to Traverse City, Michigan for surgery. Also, enroute to live in Medora, North Dakota I drove through Alliance from the tip of the Southern USA at South Padre Island, Texas.

- Alliance is a city in West Nebraska, in the Great Plains region of the USA; located at the western edge of Nebraska's Sand Hills; in the High Plains, commonly described as a "Cold Steppe".
- Carhenge is a replica of England's Stonehenge in Alliance, Nebraska. Instead of large standing stones, as is Stonehenge, Carhenge consists of gray spray painted vintage American automobiles.
